How long have you been at CPC?
We have been attending CPC for 10 years now.
How did you come to attend CPC?
We first became involved with Homesteaders back in 2006 and shortly thereafter we started attending.
Tell us about your favorite pet (past or present).
My life has been blessed with several “perfect puppies” since the age of 5. Each one has been a gift from God. As many know my Havanese, Sophie, has my heart at the moment. If I could take her everywhere with me I would. She has been a healing balm to my soul for the last 11 years.
What do you do to relax? Do you have any "guilty pleasure" that you want to tell us about?
I do look forward to a gin and tonic or a glass of wine when unwinding from a busy day. Doing so with friends is always the best!
What book, movie, etc. have you enjoyed lately?
I thoroughly enjoy a good science fiction movie or a BBC dramatic production. I have been a reader all my life, some of my favorite authors are Ted Dekker, Frank Peretti, Kay Arthur, Randy Alcorn, Beth Moore, Francine Rivers and Stephen Lawhead. Totally geeked out on the last Star Wars flick.
What did you want to be "when you grew up?"
I wanted to be a professional tennis player. Won’t ever turn down an invitation to play, if I can help it!
What is one goal that you have for yourself now?
Striving for a healthier version of me in my next half century.
What is one issue facing women, for which you have special compassion?
I have been estranged from my believing parents for over a decade now. Baby steps towards reacquainting ourselves is very difficult as they live several hundred miles away now. Because of the journey we have traveled with them, I feel a special compassion for those who have been on a similar path. We are called to honor our parents and sometimes that can be very difficult, opportunities to encourage others is something I ask the Lord would allow me to do.
Is there a particular verse that God has shown to you that gives you strength and guidance?Psalm 34:18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
My heavenly Father has me in his arms and though the troubles of this life may sometimes feel unbearable, this verse has ministered to me mightily. I am anxious for eternity to begin!
