Pioneer Girls

Pioneer Girls

Pioneer Girls is a discipleship ministry where girls learn that God’s word is the light that guides us in our walk with Jesus. Our theme verse is Psalm 119:105, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” Our desire is to challenge the girls of our church and community to grow in their faith and serve their Heavenly Father in the Body of Christ.

Pioneer Girls helps our girls apply Bible stories and principles to their everyday lives (“I love to collect rocks, but what does that have to do with Jesus?”). Girls in grades 1-8 are busy with crafts and games, Bible lessons, and Scripture memory. By completing specific requirements the girls earn badges or pins, much like a Christian version of Girl Scouts.

Welcome to the 2022-2023 Ministry Year

Our theme for this year is 1 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” Meetings are held in our ministry center from 7:00-8:30 PM for 10 weeks in the fall and 10 weeks in the spring.  Our spring classes will be held from Wednesday, February 1 through Wednesday, April 5.

Regular Program Overview

Although we have some club-wide outings such as the annual Christmas party, Mother/Daughter Tea, Missions Night, and the Closing Ceremony, most club nights the girls are divided into three separate groups pursuing activities and Bible instruction at an age-appropriate level. The four groups are:

  • Voyagers (1st through 3rd grades)
  • Pathfinders (3rd through 5th grades)
  • Challengers (6th-8th grades).

The adult leaders use Pioneer Club materials and handbooks, but our leaders also have the freedom to tailor their individual club’s program to match their own strengths and interests as well as the needs and delights of the girls in their group. What a wonderful time we have on Wednesday evenings!

We have a lot of fun in Pioneer Girls, so this has become a great outreach ministry for the girls. Friends from school or the neighborhood who may not have ever heard about God learn what it means to follow Jesus Christ.

Because there is no lack of enthusiasm from the girls, and seeing them apply Christ to their daily lives is such a wonderful joy to us, we pray that God would continue to equip this ministry of discipleship with mentors and leaders who have fresh vision, and hearts for the girls both in and beyond CPC’s front door. Please pray for the leadership of this ministry and for each of the young women who are participating in it. Thank you!
