John Radcliffe is currently raising funds to be able to come on staff full time as an Area Representative for Howard County FCA.
John was born and raised in Howard County. He attended Chapelgate Presbyterian Church his whole life and hase been a member since the age of 12. He played football and lacrosse at Wilde Lake High school and then went on to play club lacrosse at the University of Maryland- College Park where he was also involved with Cru. Bringing his faith into the club lacrosse team was his first taste of sports ministry, and he has loved it ever since.
After graduating from UMD with a finance degree, he went right into seminary. He will graduate from Metro Baltimore Seminary with a Masters’s in Divinity in December 2021. He worked as a pastoral resident at Chapelgate Church for two years before the Lord called him to FCA
He and his wife met at church, and have been married for two years. Lydia shares his passion for sports ministry. She coaches and trains soccer and uses that as a platform to share the love of Jesus.
John sees Howard County sports as a field ripe for harvest. Athletes and coaches are under heavy pressure to perform and often find their value in external achievements. God is calling people out of that burdensome mindset and into a loving relationship with him through Jesus Christ. On staff with FCA, he looks forward to being part of God’s work in Howard County athletics.
He is looking to raise $60,000 in yearly salary. He hopes to have partners that are willing to invest monthly and to join in on the work of FCA in Howard County. He hopes to develop close relationships with local churches to serve students and athletes. He eagerly looks forward to Engaging, Equipping, and Empowering athletes and coaches to shine light in their communities and develop in Christian leadership.
