Our previous announcement came out of a meeting on Tuesday night among church leadership. As we stated in that previous communication, we would continue to monitor the relevant authorities and local partners regarding the best plan moving forward. The last 24-48 hours has led us to reassess our plan.
Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to close CPC facilities from Friday, March 13 to Saturday, March 21. We made this decision in light of caring for our intergenerational community and a desire to do our part to slow the spread of exposure to and infection with COVID-19. Governor Hogan’s recent announcement impacts our decision directly. [see announcement, Thurs. 3/12/20, 4pm]
Here is what this means for us:
- Sunday Worship – We are making preparations to live stream our worship service. We will be communicating again over the weekend with directions on how to access this.
- Other Facility Use – All scheduled activities and events are canceled.
- Communication Plan – We will assess the situation again early next week, and communicate another update by Wednesday, March 18 regarding any changes or extensions to our current closure.
- Care Plan – We have also created an email address to capture needs that may directly involve our church family needs (i.e., assistance to get medications, food, or other needs). Those needs will be dispersed to our Parish Teams and Diaconate to make sure your needs are met. | EMAIL: firstname.lastname@example.org
Grace & Peace,
Pastor Randy Lovelace
