How long have you been at CPC?
Since February 7, 1981.
How did you come to attend CPC?
As newlyweds new in town we came to the Meeting Place in Oakland Mills to attend a different denomination, then providentially walked into CPC. (The Meeting Place housed multiple denominations at once on Sundays back then.)
Who lives with you at home (family, pets)?
We live at home with our college-age son. Our daughter now lives on her own.
What do you do to relax?
Word games, crossword puzzles, making travel plans, mental furniture arrangement.
What book, movie, etc. have you enjoyed lately?
I have recently been fascinated by Andy Crouch's "Strong and Weak."
What did you want to be "when you grew up?"
A teacher. (I taught briefly in California, then had 15 years as a homeschooling mom, so I guess I really was blessed to "live my dream".)
What is one goal that you have for yourself now?
To learn some new skill every year.
What is one issue facing women, for which you have special compassion?
Sex trafficking -- nasty stuff that must be eradicated. I am horrified to learn it happens right here in Howard County.
Is there a particular verse that God has shown to you that gives you strength and guidance?
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." and Proverbs 3:5-8 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."
