We are making drawstring backpacks to include with the Operation Christmas Child boxes. Our goal is to make 100 bags, with a stretch goal of 150 bags. We need fabric appropriate for both boys and girls, gender neutral is best! Cord for the drawstrings, thread for sewing and people to cut and sew.
Donations can be arranged to be dropped off to Jennifer Armstrong in person or at Columbia Presbyterian Church.
There will be a separate sign up for volunteers to help make the bags. Even if you're not "super-crafty" we can still use your help. If you can read a ruler, use scissors, or thread string, you have all the skills we need.
100 - Fabric Pieces 36"x14" (We can use a combination of fat quarters and fabric pieces.)
100 - Drawstring cords 2 yard lengths (Black and white are best, but all colors accepted)
10 spools - Sewing Thread (Black and white are best)
No limit - Gift cards from Hobby Lobby or Jo-Ann Fabrics (This will help us purchase additional supplies not donated)
No limit - Rotary cutting tools and Mats (To Borrow! We're cutting squares, so these will be very helpful.)
