Phase 2 Facility Update
CPC's facility expansion plans include the following phases:
Phase 1 --> The existing facility, known as the Ministry Center
Phase 2A --> Bump-out with worship platform on south side of Phase 1
Phase 2B --> Large facility addition on north and west sides of Phase 1
Phase 2C --> Extensive improvements to the Phase 1 facility
Phase 3 --> (Future) Sanctuary and offices
The Building Executive Committee is pleased to present our plans to expand the facility in a phased approach. The concept is to build a large addition to the north and west of the existing ministry center building and a bump-out for worship on the south side. The site plan shows the footprint of the existing ministry center (the portion with the shaded roof on the main building), as well as the proposed new construction. As you look at the northwest view and the southwest view of the facility, notice how the architect uses an ample amount of glass to provide natural light in the lobby. Additionally, notice that there will be two main entrances to the building from both the north and south ends of the lobby. An aerial southwest view reveals a helpful, three dimensional perspective of the worship bump-out, the new nursery wing, and the entrance closest to the Potter's House/south parking lot. Likewise, an aerial northeast view portrays the enhancements that the additional space adds to the existing building, giving a bird's eye view of the overall facility.
The main level floor plan includes a spacious lobby with a welcome center, two coffee stations, and a lounge area. There will be new restroom facilities adjacent to the lobby, one of which is a family restroom. The newly designed nursery on the main level will have a central receiving area with access to each of the age-appropriate nursery rooms and a laundry room. Another exciting addition is a full-size elevator located near the north entrance of the lobby. Worship services will be re-oriented towards a raised platform in the worship bump-out. An A/V room, quiet room, prayer room, and large storage areas will be conveniently located off of the main worship room.
The lower level floor plan contains a large community room that can be divided into two additional classrooms using movable partitions. This room will have a raised platform at one end for smaller performances and will open onto a landscaped terrace outside. Adjacent to the community room, there will be a lower level coffee station and a warming pantry suitable for catering community room functions. In addition to new classrooms on the west side of the lower level, other new rooms include a library, a music room, a family restroom, and plenty of storage areas.
